As a small business who has spent the past two years recruiting for SMEs, we really do understand where you are now and how your journey may have tracked a slightly different route to the one initially mapped out. We’re here to support you, just as we were before. We’ve gone through this too. 
As we come out of the cloud that is covid, we’re re-establishing what growth now looks like for Trapeze HR. The desire hasn’t changed, it’s simply that the shape of this growth looks different to what we’d envisaged at the start of this year. 
 
2020 was our year to shine! Having spent the previous two years building brand awareness and embedding our goals and mission, we were ready to share what we’d created and further evolve with new team members on board to enable this. 
 
With excited trepidation to find those “needle in a haystack” recruiters who behaved & felt like a Trapeze HR individual, we were delighted to meet three fabulous candidates in November 2019, within a few weeks of each other (via Hunted.com). Feeling hugely fortunate & exhilarated, we believed we’d secured our Trapeze team of the future and with this unexpected yet welcome dilemma, we offered each of them, staggering their arrivals to ensure smooth on-boarding. 
 
Christmas came and went and our anticipation for 2020 swelled. Jane and I were so proud to have reached this milestone & having new pics taken for the website and setting up the infrastructure for our first arrival, led to much excitement. 
 
Within a little over 2 months of Chris joining, the world as we knew it changed in the space of a few days. A new adversary had been discovered, one that would, change the course of history for so many and heap much sadness & confusion on our planet. 
 
Like everyone else, we listened to what we were told and stayed at home. Keeping loved ones safe was the priority. Juggling schooling & work became the norm, with team ‘regrouping’ zoom calls for much needed camaraderie. 
 
Lockdown for us, manifested itself as an economic standstill with projects & pipeline drifting too far for us to reach, despite our human chain wading out to sea! 
 
Maintaining our spirits and welcoming the delightful Natalie mid-way through lockdown, we were not to be deterred & poured our energies into connecting our network, hosting & facilitating pertinent webinars, lending support to candidates and constructing a small army of HR consultants, willing to offer their skills pro bona to SME clients also feeling the strain. 
 
Spring flashed past amidst 5pm news updates & a staggering & tragic number of casualties and summer arrived to a dwindling market and the realisation that our talented third hire, would be joining a somewhat different Trapeze HR than the one she accepted an offer from earlier in the year. 
 
With gut wrenching decisions made and heart felt conversations had, we said goodbye to our wonderful team, to ensure that our much-loved business continues to keep its head firmly above water. 
 
Fast forward to September and like many other businesses in their infancy, we’ve finally reached the other side. With school having resumed and working parents feeling relief with only one job to focus on, as well as intrepid commuters returning to the office, we’re encouraged that we’ll reach our growth milestone again. Shoots are reappearing and will be well nurtured and cultivated by our team of two, with the same dedication and love we gave at the start of this adventure.
